Hobbs grew up near the Lyran/FWL border. He was slightly too young to join the
military when the Clans invaded, but the coverage of events happening in other
realms seemed very exciting. Eventually, Hobbs got a job in the local
government. From there, he was promoted and assigned to the staff of the
Capellan Embassy. He learned much of the local culture during his stay,
including the language. Hobbs worked his way up the ladder, eventually becoming
an aide to the Ambassador. He was present in Capella during Operation Guerrero.
In 3072, the DMM asked for liasons from each member state to assist in providing
contracts to the units working under it. Michael Hobbs was assigned the rank of
Ambassador to the DMM.
Personality Profile:
Michael Hobbs managed to reach the rank of Ambassador despite not being related
to any nobility or engaging much in politics. His lack of politics, despite
working for the government for 20 years, is considered the main reason why the
Captain-General assigned him the Ambassador to the DMM. It was assumed that he
would not let factional favoritism get in the way of hiring mercenaries to
accomplish the various missions of the FWLM. Hobbs is a reserved sort who is
fascinated by military matters, though he himself was never part of one. He
especially enjoys watching holos of Solaris matches, one of the few times he
gets truly excited.
