Bruce is the former commander of the BattleMech portion of the Sarna March
Achernar Militia. Happy to see much of the region freed from Capellan tyranny as
a teen, Bruce holds a distinct hatred for all things Capellan. Like many of his
men, the General also remembered the short-lived Tikonov Republic fondly.
However, when the FedCom Civil War erupted, the Archernar Militia sided with the
Loyalists. While readying for a move to Tikonov late in the war, Haas found his
unit attacked by the 5th Syrtis Fusiliers. Forced offworld, the unit resumed the
fight on Small World before finally surrendering following weeks of heavy
combat. After the conflict ended, Bruce was surprised to find himself not only
paroled, but also offered the new ambassador slot to the DMM just months later.
Personality Profile:
Bruce's hatred for House Liao was only fanned by the invasion of '57, and the
FedCom Civil War did nothing to quench that flame. Bruce now intends to use his
position to keep the Capellans busy with mercenary attacks while the AFFS
continues to rebuild. He hopes to add in small, unmarked AFFS units if possible
in order to help blood the still young AFFS officer corps. If the opportunity
presents itself, he will not hesitate to encourage the AFFS to use its veteran
troops to try and capture a Capellan world.
