History: Born to Ivan and Francesca, James George Griffin has seen the light of day on the beautiful morning of 7th of July 3040 in the mansion of his family. His father a member of the planetary Government, with strong Numenoric view on the military involvement of his planet into the affairs of the AFFS while his mother a high born of the nobility lead one of the organizations that lobbied for the demilitarization of the Numenor system completely. James had a careless childhood and attended some of the best education centers Numenor had to offer and with the high presence of nobility on the planet, the education was impressive.

 

None have figured out what could have marked such a change in the boy, but many considered that the strong views of his parents were the ones that finally had an effect on James. In the early years of his adolescence James took a drastic turn in his life philosophy and contrary to his parents beliefs he started to support the military life and even craved in secret to live one. His parents were very vehement against this and James saw no escape since he was still minor by law and all the wealth was controlled by his parents, but hope came when one of his grandparents passed away and left him more than enough money for James to use after he was 18. George bought his time and after he turned 18 he let his family know that after he finished high school he will apply at every military academy in the Federated Suns. His father tried to use every means possible to him to keep his son on planet, but he finally had to conceive to his older boy that he had won what had turned into a philosophy war between James and his family.

 

George arrived on a world just one jump away, the capital of the Federated Suns, New Avalon. His impressive record of his education and the money he carried in the bank guaranteed a place for him in the NAIS College of Military Science. During his four year stay at the NAIS, Griffin managed to undertake the OCS and after his education was done he was thrown forward in a Lieutenant position just in time to witness the start of the FedCom Civil War at the controls of his mech. He was detached to the Fifth Davion Guards stationed on Alcyone. In the serious fighting in and out of Hagarstown Griffin made himself known as impulsive and lucky, some say. He was able to take on a force twice his size and win with the loss of only one mech in his lance. His Captain, even though he was not approving with the lieutenants methods pushed his name for a commendation, which would eventually mean the rise of the young mechwarrior. By the end of 3063 Griffin had already took part in some of the heaviest fighting of the start of the FedCom Civil war. He massed a lot of experience on the bloody battlefields of Kathil and at the beginning of 3064 he received a battlefield promotion to Captain after his CO was killed in the fighting.

 

The beginning of wave three of the FedCom Civil war found James with a new rank and a privileged mech, a Timberwolf as he liked to call it. The Fifth were down to half strength and the Loyalist had gained advantage at the end of wave three, something that threw a shadow on the Allied forces on Kathil. James would soon find out what war was really like. George was wounded in combat when the Donegal Guards almost broke the Fifth with continued attack. Marshal Archer soon retired off-world after the attack and the Fifth fell in the hands of Major General Richard Silver, who was impressed by the fact that one of his Captains had been fighting for almost a week with a broken arm refusing medical care. James was soon promoted to Major and commanded what remained of one the battlemech battalions. The end of wave four found James with Major pins on his shoulders and a better position to win after the arrival of the First Federated Suns Armored Cavalry.

 

That year the fighting ended and after some impressive display of tactical prowess Major Griffin was promoted to Aide with the rank of Colonel. The Major General told him that he will be soon left to command the Guards, but it was not to be. The Fifth Guards would be destroyed and put on the inactive list after the fighting on Dalkeith. The Colonel, wounded seriously in battle was forced to stay off the battlefield for more than a year. After many assignments to one unit or another in order to bring himself together from the serious injury that brought him a type five prosthesis to his leg, the Colonel was dispatched to represent the Federated Suns in the new SLDF army. While he was on Terra accompanying several Generals, they were assaulted by media. The Colonel acted promptly to hold the reporters at bay with an impressive charismatic skill while the Generals made their escape. He was soon promoted to public-relations officer.
 
Personality Profile: At his age Griffin has seen many fights to know that war changes you. From the impulsive days of his youth he has become a very strategic and considered mechwarrior, qualities that brought him his current posting. He is very harsh with himself for not achieving a higher position, but he doesn’t show it especially since this was not due to lack of skill which he has an abundance of. He is always confident of his actions and he is not arrogant about it. Some said that his thoughts and actions belong more to a Kuritan then to a Davion.

 

His heritage does give him a stature of nobility, but he rarely shows it on purpose. It is more natural than anything else and some have hold it against him along the years even though since his teenage years he has tried to leave it behind him, especially since his vision was not one and the same with that of his family. He has overcome long ago the stigma that is sometimes associated with the people of Numenor, but he finds himself often face to face with some that might oppose his heritage too hard for their own good.

 

He has a lot of friends even though he is sometimes hard to live with. He has been married twice, but none of his life partners have had the devotion to follow him around the Inner Sphere from one battlefield to another. James has been a military man since his teenage years and he does not see a change in that very soon.
