PLANETARY DETAILS:
Hinckley has been on the edge of nowhere since it was
first colonised. At the very limit of the Lyran Alliance held space,
it has seen very limited influence from the Steiner dynasty.
The planet
is a classic tropical planet with a good equatorial region of islands
for farming of fruits and other produce. The only problem is the tsunami's
that occur on a infrequent basis that tend to reduce Hinckley's industry
and population down to the pre-industrial age level every ten years
or so.
The capital is Gordon and it has the only spaceport, but it is built on the edge of a volcano that threatens to erupt every so often.
Socio-Industrial Levels: |
|
|---|---|
Technological Development |
Minimal advancement; inhabitants live without dependence on technology; no advanced education; medical care at level of mid 20th century at best. |
Industrialization Level |
No industrialization. |
Raw Material Dependence |
World/system produces some of the raw materials needed and imports the rest. |
Industrial Output |
World must import most of its heavy industrial and high-tech needs. |
Agricultural Dependence |
World has a rich environment producing a great excess of food in relation to population needs, with planet’s agricultural regions augmented by agricultural technologies; exports some portion of its resources. |
EMPLOYER SITUATION REPORT:
On 30 December 3076 the system of Hickley seceded from the Lyran Alliance
and placed itself under the administration of the Rim World's Collection.
Although at the time it was reported that the notorious insurgent group
Democracy Now was involved, this has yet to be proven as fact.
Due to the drain on resources created by Operation Lorelai and the associated
repatriation of a number of planets the Lyran Diplomatic Corps and Lyran
Intelligence Service have been unable to devote the resources necessary
for further investigation. The truth remains that Hinckley is an unimportant
periphery world and simply does not rate compared to the likes of Pandora
and Sudeten.
A mercenary company is being requested to fill the gap and investigate
the planet of Hinckley to discover the reasons behind the systems secession.
(Please refer to PY-GD-06-01 for the opposite view)
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
1) Investigate and discover the reasons or forces behind
the secession of the Hinckley system.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVES:
1) If able perform the same task on the Viborg system.
