PLANETARY DETAILS:
Arcadia was one of the earliest member planets in
the Federated Suns, joining in the second wave of new membership.
Populated by mostly Scandinavian settlers, the planet's most famous
citizen was Marge Svensdottar, wife of Federated Suns President
Paul Davion. Arcadia
was a "garden world", with bountiful water, extensive agriculture,
abundant raw materials, and booming industry. That it lost out
to New Avalon, a strife-ridden world at the time, for the choice of
capitol of the Federated Suns, was a surprise, and laid the seeds
for resentment that showed itself during the conspiracies against
Edward Davion, but never had a chance to fully ripen.
Then came the 1st Succession War, and Arcadia was taken from the universe.
Like many other rich worlds in the realm and outside, it was quickly
targeted by the enemies of House Davion, and without the defensive
capabilities of a garrison like the capitol world's, Arcadia succumbed
to non-conventional weapons, with those who could fleeing the system. Quarantined,
and then removed from current starmaps, the system was forgotten...or
so everyone thought.

EMPLOYER SITUATION REPORT:
When Word of Blake warships arrived
over New Avalon shortly after the conclusion of the FedCom Civil War
without having been seen in any inhabited Davion systems, it raised
a few eyebrows. When the Blakists showed up with resurrected
ghosts from the past of the FedSuns Navy as gifts, seemingly having
pulled the same trick twice, and this time not tripping new automated
sensors in a plethora of uninhabited systems surrounding New Avalon,
people lost their jobs.
When a rogue Word of Blake faction, commanded by someone whom the Word
had claimed years earlier was a Comstar spy, suddenly appeared in the Tsamma
Combat Region and began invading planets, those replacement people lost
their jobs as well.
Now, after piecing together information gathered from the Word's defeats
on Tsamma, Palmyra, and elsewhere, the newest generation of intelligence
analysts thinks they may have stumbled upon the key to the Blakists' seeming
ability to move within the heart of the Federated Suns' realm with impugnity.
Arcadia.
Lengthy record searches through the Davion archives have revealed a troubling
pattern: it appears someone went to a lot of trouble to remove references
to Arcadia in almost all types of sources. Judging from the
alterations to the records, these changes were made centuries ago, and
hint at something much bigger than simply a remote base. We have
discovered some older jumpship route maps which confirm the jump coordinates,
as well as a rotating pirate point on the sun-side of one of Arcadia's
two moons which should allow for a stealthy insertion.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
1) Determine the extent and intent
of the Word of Blake's activities on Arcadia.
2) Avoid detection for as long as
possible. If the Blakists discover your presence, they will
hunt you down mercilessly, making extraction extremely difficult.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVES:
1) Arcadia's industries and infrastructure
were top of the line before the 1st Succession War, and due to the
types of weapons used at that time, may actually be intact. Determine
if this is the case.
2) Should extraction become impossible,
find a way to get word offworld, and a multi-regiment AFFS task force
will invade the system.
