PLANETARY DETAILS:
Settled by explorers with Norwegian roots, Filtvet
very much resembles some areas of that Scandinavian country. Even
the equatorial areas receive some snowfall during the year, but the
northern climes can be quite pleasant during the summers. Various
hot springs allowed for settlements to be built even near the arctic
circle.
Most famous for its AFFS military academy, Filtvet draws young men
and women from the surrounding systems who want to make it in the
military. Graduates of the academy are immediately considered
full-time AFFS members, while a not-small percentage of dropouts decide
to stay on Filtvet, either to try to regain admission to the academy,
or as permanent residents on a world that's quite advanced compared
to others in the Outback.

EMPLOYER SITUATION REPORT:
When what we now realize was the second
wave of Adder attacks hit, Filtvet was on the list. The five
companies of academy 'mechs mobilized immediately to face the invaders,
and promptly suffered twenty percent casualties before Major Eric LeBeau
could reign in his cadets. Hurum was in danger of falling to
a direct and steady drive when one Adder cluster promptly headed northwest,
away from the city and towards empty wilderness. The second followed
shortly thereafter.
Given their full access to Filtvet's planetary transportation grid, Major
LeBeau made the decision to leave one company defending Hurum and take
his remaining three into the wilderness. Since it was an area frequently
used by the academy for maneuvers, he was certain he could dog the Adders
enough to keep them from reaching their destination, whatever it was, for
a good while, and buy time for reinforcements to arrive. The enemy
would also be hard-pressed to disengage.
That was two weeks ago, and so far the Major's plan is working. The
clan forces appear to be composed of two seperate units that are not working
well together for whatever reason. Some theories suggest their warriors
are trying to outdo each other in a dangerous game of one-upmanship. So
far, it has cost them at least two stars of the fourteen identified so
far.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
1) Assist the cadets in containing
the Adder drive into the wilderness.
2) Determine what the Adders' end objective is.
SECONDARY OBJECTIVES:
1) N/A
