Operational Location Details
Tikonov is a large arid world that has four
major landmasses: Ufa in the northeast, Krasnodar in the
southeast, Pskov in the southwest, and Kazan in the northwest.
Tikograd, the capital of Tikonov, is located on Kazan. The
largest, and most heavily industrialized city on the planet,
Tikograd has long been divided into three areas: administrative,
industrial and residential. Each section is separated from
the others by its own walls and towers, with only a limited
number of roads and subways connecting the three sections.
Surrounding the whole complex is another series of walls
and towers, though not as imposing as the inner ones.
The planet supports three major defense contractors: Earthwerks,
Ceres Metals and Harcourt Productions. Tikograd is located
northeast of the Ural Mountains, the capital and home to
Earthwerks largest plant. Ceres Metals is located on Asano
Bay outside the city of New Moscow on the northwest coast
of Ufa. Tukwila Valley is a major agricultural center for
Tikonov, and is located on the continent of Ufa due south
of New Moscow. Harcourt Productions is located in the city
of Tukwila. The Herosoma Mountains run diagonally across
the continent providing all the ore needed for production.
Tikonov has a political past filled with turmoil, and has
changed hands multiple times in just the last few decades. It
took eight RCTs to conquer the world in the 4th Succession
War, and a much smaller force, with no small amount of guile
and trickery, to reclaim it for the Capellan Confederation
during the FedCom Civil War. The most recent battle,
just over two years ago, matched three AFFS RCT's and a Borodin's
Vindicators against Warrior House Dai Da Chi and a
scratch provisional regiment. It still took six weeks
to secure the planet's main cities and industrial areas.
Employers Situation Report
The High Command wanted to free up Khorsakov's Cossacks for
use elsewhere, and decided to use the nation's surplus 'mech
production to build up new units from the mostly-untapped
manpower resources of the systems surrounding Tikonov, with
a smattering of recruits from the system itself. MIIO
knows the Maskirovka still has assets on planet. Any
assistance in revealing those assets will be rewarded.
Meanwhile, given the performance and loyalties of the original Republican
Guard, the High Command wants to take no chances with these new formations'
creation. They want an experienced mercenary unit that can hold exercises
with both new Guard regiments while the personnel division vets the loyalty
of these new troops to a higher degree than is standard. While the
Vindicators keep a firm hold on Tikograd, the 2 Guards regiments have been
assigned to the other two major manufacturing areas. Transport is
available to move any required units to the rolling hills and plains of
the Pskov continent for mass training.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
1) Hold large-scale training exercises with both Republican
Guard regiments individually, and as a group, in a variety
of terrains and locales. While doing so, provide
any assistance requested by MIIO personnel in their continuing
search for hostile agents. Should Tikonov come under
attack, protecting the Ceres Metals plant located on Asano
Bay outside the city of New Moscow on the northwest coast
of Ufa will be the responsibility of the mercenary unit.
An old Capellan base not too far from New Moscow has been
refurbished to serve as the mercenaries' main staging area
for the duration of the contract.
