PLANETARY DETAILS:
To say that there is little of note about the system
of Zoetemeer would actually be complimentary. This temperate world has
few economic mineral resources, limited industry and an agricultural
base that handles the local population admirably, but produces little
excess.
There are three major continents, two on opposite sides of the northern
hemisphere with the third taking up most of the southern hemisphere.
The capital city of Hohenzollern lies in almost the geographical centre
of the southern continent.
In 3050, the gutted Tenth Donegal RCT and the Twelfth Star Guards' Third
Regiment made a brave stand on Zoetermeer, between September and October
3050. Apparently possessing nothing the Clans would want, Zoetermeer
came under attack for reasons still unknown to the Inner Sphere, though
some people suggest a naval depot is hidden somewhere in the system.
Khan Chistu ordered the Emerald Talon Assault Star to take the world
without resorting to an orbital bombardment, a tactic the Clans abandoned
in the wake of Clan Smoke Jaguar's destruction of Turtle Bay in retaliation
for that planet's continued resistance. The Khan used the Emerald Talon
mainly because he could spare no troops for the assault. Star Admiral
Adrian Malthus positioned his ships above the capital city of Hohenzollern
and bluffed the planetary forces into surrender by threatening the orbital
bombardment he was barred from unleashing.
Since that time the planet has changed hands from Clan Jade Falcon to
Clan Steel Viper and Back, and most recently was claimed by Clan Wolf.
Such attention for a planet with little offer is suspicious indeed.
Socio-Industrial Levels: |
|
|---|---|
Technological Development |
World of moderate
advancement; average educational systems and medical care; microelectronics
can not be manufactured. |
Industrialization Level |
Some industrialization at
level of mid-20th century; fusion reactors imported. |
Raw Material Dependence |
World/system produces some
of the raw materials needed and imports the rest. |
Industrial Output |
World has a small industrial
base that may produce a limited number of products for export. |
Agricultural Dependence |
World has and environment
producing most foods, but relies on some imports for food not
capable of being grown. |
EMPLOYER SITUATION REPORT:
The rumour mill was not correct about
Zoetemeer, there is no secret naval depot in the Zoetemeer system.
New information recently uncovered by the LIC Norn's division shows that
there is a reason the planet has changed hands so many times: Years before
the Amaris civil war and the subsequent Exodus, Zoetemeer was home to ground
based dropship factory that produced almost all its own parts. Where the
raw materials were sourced from remains a mystery.
Finally breaking through the heavy encryption on a set of historical archives,
the Norn's have located the original factory. Not only this, but they have
discovered communications that suggest that the factory R&D team were
close to completing an experimental dive unit that would, to quote, "revolutionise
space travel as we know it".
A mercenary command is sought to infiltrate the Zoetemeer system, locate
the factory and collect any and all data relating to the factories dropship
designs, source of materials and most importantly any research completed
into the experimental drive system.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
1) Infiltrate the system and find
the factory
2) Collect all data that can be found
3) Collect any useful artifacts
4) Exit the system
SECONDARY OBJECTIVES:
1) Remain undetected by enemy
forces.
2) If Secondary Objective 1 is failed, destroy the factory.
