PLANETARY DETAILS:
Proserpina is a death trap of enormous proportions. Seven times the planet has been the object of ferocious contests between the Draconis Combine and the Federated Suns. After each battle, the planet and its people have suffered grievously.

Of Proserpina's five continents, two are complete wastelands. The northern Amerigo continent is unapproachable except in an environmental suit because of the many long-lasting contact poisons in the soil and water.

During the last battle between Davion and Kurita, the Combine forces wrested the planet away from the Federated Suns by releasing huge plumes of nerve gas that killed approximately 60 percent of the planet's civilian and military populations. Needless to say, the Kurita troops had little problem taking Proserpina after that.

Despite all this, Proserpina now has a large population and a variety of minor industries. Because the planetary capital of Conqueror's Pride is also a prefecture capital, it supports many bureaucrats. Proserpina is also the homeworld of the 9th Benjamin Regulars, under the command of Denice Eastmoreland.

Proserpina also possess its own militay academy. The University of Proserpina teaches combat skills to aspiring infantrymen, MechWarriors, AeroSpace Pilots, and artillery personnel. Many students specializing in conventional arms attend this university.

Native to Proserpina, Blood Limpets are blood-sucking quasi-reptiles with hard green shells and weighing about a kilogram. When they sense body heat, these creatures rise above the muck of their swamp and run with amazing speed on their six legs toward the prey. Needless to say, they gave the early colonists on Proserpina endless nightmares.

EMPLOYER SITUATION REPORT:
The Draconis Combine sees the Federated Suns rebuilding its military and the Dragon wishes to see this process slowed and hindered. To that end we are equipping several raiding forces that will target defense industries.



We are putting together a mixed team to conduct a raid into the city of Rio on Johnsondale. The target is the Valiant Systems armament factory there that builds missile systems. Valiant Systems has several facilities within Rio, including a major vehicle factory. We believe their missile system assembly and storage facilities will be lightly guarded compared to that complex.



This will be a highly covert operation. Direct confrontation with the planetís defending forces is not desired. A merchant jumpship and dropship with proper clearances will allow for the opportunity to enter and exit the system under the cover of being simple merchantmen. Your equipment will be smuggled in on the same vessel and off-loaded at a starport warehouse where you'll be able to secure it later after proceeding through planetary customs.



We are sending a 10-man DEST Team, we are looking for a small special operations mercenary contingent that can train alongside this unit at a remote special operations training facility on Proserpina. On Johnsondale, the raiding force will split up, the 10-man DEST Team will plant explosives to bring down the missile system factory. Your unit will plant explosives in the warehouse complexes that house completed missile round packaged for shipping off-world.



The warehouses going up should prove to be a more than sufficient fireworks show, acting as a diversion to cover your tracks. It will likely take investigators days to determine whether the incident was an accident or sabotage.



The facility is likely to be guarded by Valiant Systems security personnel and AFFS Troopers from the planetary garrison. Your training on Proserpina will be focused on developing a plan to succeed in this raid while minimizing the risk of alerting the AFFS garrison prematurely.



Any accepting unit should send nothing heavier than infantry or light battle armored troopers. The covert nature of this operation must be preserved at all cost.
