PLANETARY DETAILS:
Fletcher's dense atmosphere and
almost constant cloud cover keep it damp and chilly, befitting a planet
whose major claim to fame is its use as a burial ground for countless
Capellan Chancellors. Because it has so little in the way of resources or
beauty to recommend it, Fletcher was largely ignored by Davion and Marik
forces throughout the Succession Wars. Though the planet supports a large
population, it has no real economic value beyond its self-sufficiency. As
its people trade almost nothing, Fletcher has little contact with
neighboring systems and is often skipped over on trade routes.
The Duchy of small currently
has visions of expansion, an expansion by force. The Duke of Small currently
has his eyes set on obtaining the worlds of Fletcher and Sheratan and will
be dispatching forces some time in the future. It seems however that both of
these worlds have started to stockpile weaponry and ammunition as well and
food stocks in preparation for the upcoming struggle hence the Duke of Small
wishes a Mercenary unit to land on Fletcher and steal these supplies for his
forces.
After the Dragon Slayers had done an excellent job for him in the past few
months, he has asked them to continue their effective strategy and place a
really big thorn in the side of Fletcher's rulers.
[Dragon Slayers Fletcher
Campaign Update]
The Dragon Slayers unit is
presently on Fletcher, enduring a trial by fire. Gravina Sabra Kame of the
Duchy of Small has contracted the Dragon Slayers for her Duke to create a
ruckus and steal supplies as a prelude to invasion. Unbeknownst to the
Slayers, one of the unit's Lances sold out wholly to the Gravina, and chose
to disappear on Invasion Day. As such, the Slayers have had a hard time of
it since they took on the contract. Morale is near the breaking point and
supplies are non-existent but the local Militia is on the run.
Recent events are marked by the Slayers' arrival to the Milborne Resiplex
region and narrow victory against a relatively green light recon lance of
the elite 4th Tau Ceti Rangers and the location of a friendly local
resistance group, the so-called 'People's Liberation Force of Fletcher', a
group that has been fighting off the Zhanzheng De Guang and Liao
sympathizers since time out of mind.
Comments: In the interests of a Guerilla Warfare contract, the Dragon
Slayers are going to dig in with the PLFF and avoid the 4th. Raids on
production facilities and military assets of an increasing kind will
culminate with a grand battle near the capitol with the Governor's guards -
and they have a refurbished Highlander!
