1.
Players joining
the Battletech-Mercenaries community must create original
characters with full a biography. Copies of already
established characters in the Battletech Universe such as
Victor Davion, Phelan Ward, Kai Allard-Liao etc. or any
biological relation to them are not permitted. All players
must submit their characters through the
Battletech-Mercenaries join form. The DMM will first make
sure that the player is not breaking any member conduct rules
and then they will forward it on to the Commanding Officer
for final approval.
2. Battletech-Mercenaries is a combined PBeM
and PBF group. All Mercenary Units, unless otherwise approved
by the DMM must be PBeM (Play by Email) or (Play by Forum).
If you want to Role Play in another fashion other than PBeM
or PBF you must ask and receive authorization before setting
up your game other than PBeM or PBF.
3. A Commanding Officer may require reject
any applicant to their unit, regardless of any previous Role
Playing experience. They have final say on the personnel
within their respective units.
4. The posting standards of
Battletech-Mercenaries expect a player to post once every two
weeks. If the player has not posted after another additional
week the CO may remove them from the Mercenary Unit without
inquiry from the DMM. Commanding Officers may adjust posting
requirements but must have their respective players informed
of the change.
5. The LOA (Leave of Absence) can be used by
any and all players within Battletech-Mercenaries. It is used
by a player when they can not meet the criteria of ‘Rule 4’
but must state a time of return. Commanding Officers can not
refuse a LOA unless it is being abused by the player.
6. Only a players Commanding Officer can
determine promotion/demotions and position assignments within
their respective Mercenary Units. Promotions and Demotions
are generally based on posting quality and quantity and other
assistance given to the players Commanding Officer. A
Commanding Officer may not promote a subordinate to equal or
beyond their current DMM assigned rank unless given
permission by the Director of the DMM.
7. Contract bids are only made by the Commanding
Officer or Executive Officer and begin on the date of the
first post of the contract. Contract transcripts are to be
submitted on the contract completion date, determined from
the date of the first post. Although the contract story can
continue beyond that date, no more revenue can be made.
8. Commanding Officers must not actively
recruit within Battletech-Mercenaries for more members. Look
outside for players, help us grow and not over extend
players. Transfers between units concerning already
established characters are accepted if the Commanding Officer
of the unit that the character is being transferred to
accepts them.
9. A Commanding Officer can not change their unit's
name with out proper authorization. A Unit can not alter
their Military Hardware Loadouts or what Military Hardware
they have without purchasing new equipment from the Military
Hardware Broker. If any Mercenary Unit is found to be
circumventing these rules they will face disbandment by the
Director.
10. Battletech-Mercenaries etiquette must be
at all times polite and respectful to all players. Moderate
cursing is permitted though players must restrain themselves
from bad behavior or insulting gestures. This is a 15+ Role
Playing Community and strong sexual or extreme violent
material is not acceptable within Battletech-Mercenaries and
players that ignore this will go up under review and be
possibly banned from Battletech-Mercenaries. To avoid this,
exercise good judgment and be sensible and respectful to
other players and the Battletech-Mercenaries community.
11. Players must attempt to keep their posts
realistic. There are no such things as 600 ton mechs or a
Warship in the ownership of a merchant and if your in a Light
Mech with only 2 small lasers your not likely going to
survive a direct battle with a full armed Assault Mech.
12. A player can only have a maximum of five
active characters within the whole of Battletech-Mercenaries
and only one of those can be Commanding Officer.
A player can only have two
characters per Mercenary Unit and each one must be of a
different class (ie. 'Mechwarrior, Aerospace pilot,
Technician, Infantry, Battle Armor, DropShip, or
JumpShip). A player can have also have an additional non-posting
character (DMM Staff & Faction Ambassadors) that are used
purely for administrational purposes. But a player may not
hold a DMM Staff or Faction Ambassador position and be a unit
Commanding Officer at the same time.
13. When concerning Battletech-Mercenaries
changes, Battletech-Mercenaries conflicts or
Battletech-Mercenaries interests, the Director decides on
what course Battletech-Mercenaries follows. Their decisions
can only be overturned by the unanimous co-operation of the
Deputy Director, Public Relations Officer and the Military
Hardware Broker but it is advised that the Director take the
advice of the rest of the DMM into consideration.
14. If any player has a complaint against
another player, including Commanding Officers or DMM
personnel they should refer to the issue to the Deputy
Director.
15. Battletech-Mercenaries reserves the right
to solicit and entail the removal of any player who is judged
to be found a danger to a safe Role Playing environment. This
occurs at the discretion of the Director at the
recommendation of the Deputy Director
16. If a Commanding Officer resigns from
Battletech-Mercenaries they will not be able to command a
Mercenary Unit within Battletech-Mercenaries for a term of 3
months from the date of resignation. Adjustments and
exceptions can be made by the Director pending the reason for
resignation and the co-operation of the Commanding Officer.
The players that were a part of the Mercenary Unit will be
offered roles in other Units that have openings regardless of
the opinion of the resigned Commanding Officer.
17. If a Commanding Officer or DMM Staff Member are
found to be in dereliction of their duty to Command their
Unit or for fill their assigned duties they may be removed by
the Director at the recommendation of the Deputy
Director.
